San Antonio College’s women’s basketball team trounced the Northwest Vista Wildcats 86-31 at home Wednesday night.

The game stayed close early in the first quarter, but after shooting guard Lydia Macias made two free throws to put SAC up 12-10, the Armadillos never looked back.

SAC Point Guard Devyn Castillo shot well from behind the arc, draining three 3-point shots in the first half to send SAC into halftime with a 38-19 lead.

SAC Center Marisa Lopez and Macias shot well in the third quarter, and the Armadillos extended their lead to 57-28.

A leg injury sidelined Macias in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Armadillos closed out with a dominant performance on both sides of the ball.

“It was an obvious cramp,” Castillo told SAC Student News about Macias’ injury. Castillo said.

Macias will be back in the lineup for the Armadillos’ next game against the Northeast Lakeview Nighthawks on the road Wednesday.
