Members of SAC’s Student Government Association (SGA) met with student club officers for the SGA President’s Roundtable in the Loftin Student Center March 18. Club representatives discussed upcoming campus activities and planned events for the semester.
Harley Williams is the senior advisor for the First Year Experience (FYE), a program focused on helping students adjust to college life and succeed at SAC. Williams used the event to share information and recruit volunteers for FYE’s welcome reception next semester.

“The FYE program offers a welcome party to all of our new students,” Williams said.
Marisa Martinez, FYE coordinator, also announced the date for the next Clubapalooza, a one-day event where students can meet representatives from all campus clubs.
“We will hold Clubapalooza every semester,” Martinez said.
Student Government Association Advisor Roxxane Barrera encouraged student organizations to set up tables at Clubapalooza.

“We anticipate a full house,” Barrera said. “The room holds about 200 people. Clubs will have tables outside as people enter, where they can sell or distribute information.”
Barrera also encouraged club officials to participate in SAC’s Earth Day celebration April 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the mall area on campus. The event, free and open to the public, is a collaboration between the Office of Civic Engagement and Eco Centro.
The next President’s Roundtable will take place April 15 and will be the final gathering of the spring semester.
