Office of Student Life (OSL) and Civic Engagement Coordinator Joseph Liedecke presented plans for the Cesar E. Chavez March for Justice that took place Saturday. Liedecke encouraged clubs to participate in the march.

Multiple clubs discussed their efforts to attract new members. The Latin American Anthropology Club meets in the biology lab every other Monday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. The Heart of Yarn Club meets Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Pride Room in Loftin Student Center. Club members said they gained five new members, and they plan to sell handmade plushies and other crocheted items to raise funds at a tabling event in the future.

Alex Ruiz, program coordinator for the Wesley Foundation of San Antonio, said student organizations could use the foundation’s student lounge area, which has free wifi, coffee and snacks, on most weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Foundation members hold their own meeting at noon on Wednesdays.

“If I need to stay later for groups, I can make something work,” Ruiz said.

Ruiz also invited students to take advantage of the free lunches the foundation offers at 102 Belknap Place every Tuesday.

SGA holds a President’s Roundtable meeting every three weeks. The next meeting is scheduled for April 11 at 2 p.m. in the Loftin Student Center’s Fiesta Room.
